The Blue Box was set up in 1998:
Check all the pictures and videos captured from 1998 until 2024.
The Blue Box was upgraded in 2024:
Pictures captures by the cameras every day are now moved to a Google Disk folder.
From Finnsåhøgda you can see the Blue Box with Rognefjell behind it.
This is the view from the Blue Box - or you can check it out on YouTube Live right now.
During 2023 we managed to collect enough to buy a new computer and 3 cameras:
2 cameras are now operational.
The 3rd camera is planned for the "upper station" located about 170 meter up to the right of the Blue Box.
The Blue Box has power and internet.
We can install more equipment on the mast or on the roof.
Tell us if you have some equipment that could be used.
This camera has 8MP (3840 x 2160) at 30 fps, 2.8 mm Fixed Lens and a Ultra Wide Dynamic Range.
The PC is a Windows 11 Pro, Ryzen 9 5950X, Nvidia T1000, 32GB ECC, 1.5TB SSD.
We want to test out equipment in the Blue Box were we have the box, power, internet and a powerful computer.
Currently we do NOT have enought money to buy any equipment - so please help us!
But until we have - any money you donate will be used for:
better computer systems
We need more local storage to save the recordings and images
We need Cloud services to move the data to the web - available to all
more instruments
more cameras
We want to use experience gained from equipment set up at the Blue Box to create a scaled down version of an automated Anomaly Detection System that can be deployed in the valley - and other places!
The Blue Box is our lab. We have space, power and internet.
We will always look at other solutions (Buy or Build). But we want to develop our own Anomaly Detection System and make it public. So we have identified 3 projects: Using a LoRa to allow for a lot of sensors over a big area. A BlueBox Mini using 4G and finally: the receiving cloud solution - where all the data goes - available for all to access.
The OpenADS initiative will invite others to use our infrastructure. What we make should be available in the public domain.
We need to create a mobile field-deployable system with a minimum footprint - because some of the areas we want to put out equipment is in a national park. (Forollhogna nasjonalpark) If possible we would like to "hide" the equipment in something that blends in with the nature.
