Possible Explanations and Counter-Arguments

• Drone
  • Pro: The movement resembles terrain-hugging drone flight. Duration is typical for a drone that does not return (but then we should see someone picking it up later)
  • Contra: No blinking navigation lights, no visible operator, no return flight, and similar observations exist from before drones were available.
• Car / vehicle
  • Pro: The light follows the slope of the hillside.
  • Contra: No cars were observed, there is no road in that area, and the light appears above the treetops.
• Snowmobile
  • Pro: Snowmobiles are active in the area and produce strong lights.
  • Contra: Observed snowmobiles move much slower and follow the ground but do not move above the treetops.
• Optical effect / “ghosting”
  • Pro: Similar effects have previously been caused by off-camera vehicles.
  • Contra: The motion is structured and persistent, and cannot be easily explained as a simple camera artefact.
• Typical Hessdalen light phenomenon
  • Pro: The movement, apparent size, and fade-out behavior match many historical Hessdalen observations.
  • Contra: Cannot be confirmed with certainty; the phenomenon remains unidentified.

Three Frame Object

The three images below show an object that occured in three consecutive camera frames. This means the movement that becomes appearant happened within 120 miliseconds. We don't know what this object is. Since we have no data telling us how far it is away from the camera it is impossible to estimate it's actual speed and size.
