For the first time since the 2024 camera upgrade, a witness report could be verified through camera footage. A light has been seen (witness report below) which also appears (very small) on one of our cameras.
Immediately after the observation, Project Hessdalen was contacted and all of our cameras have been checked for possible footage of the event. One camera located close to the community house captured it in the far distance. Even though the „skipping“ (see report) was not captured on camera, the time and direction of the camera recording match the witness description perfectly. Snorre, the witness, also confirmed after reviewing the footage that it was the event he saw.

Detailed analysis of all videos taken during the observation is still ongoing. This page will be updated with any new findings.

This is Snorre’s report:

We stopped at Vårhuskjølen driving down from Båttjønndalen with just some minor flashes and a red dot at Røhovde observed between us. We started talking about how much the small trees around the road had grown, starting to block the view. I was looking about 246 degrees north, directly at an area where the horizon was getting most obscured by trees and a smaller white orb appeared , it skipped west, became a bit more orange and enlarged, skipped again and became even more orange and even larger and it kind of faded out. It was clearly under the clouds. It was invisible for me as it skipped/moved position. I was the only witness. Reviewing the video sent to me from Project Hessdalen I was amazed how much smaller it looked on video. Another weird thing is time. On the video it seems like more of a blink, but for me it lasted 2-3 secs. At least 2 sec.
